In 2008, Ralph Pickles returned to the UK and founded Helmsway Ltd to provide non-executive services to companies supporting on strategy and execution (Compass and Clock)
He is currently on the Boards of Polyphotonix (Noctura.com – therapy for diabetic eye disease); Sapient Sensors (Instant local analysis/diagnosis); Tees River Users Trust (Water based sports); and Outwood Grange Academies Trust (30,000 students in 42 schools).
He is also Vice-Chair of the Institute of Directors, Yorkshire and NE, and a recent member of the King’s Trust NE Development Committee.
After delivering coaching activities in various organisations, he has complied those thoughts into a book- “Winning Leadership”.
Winning Leadership is available at no charge if accompanied by a contribution of £20 (or more) to the King’s Trust Achieve Program in the NE – successfully building resilience and employability skills in young people.
Currently 1 in 7 young people in the UK is unemployed and many lack the confidence and basic skills needed to win and hold down a job.
